Slipform Paving Machine Supervisor - Texarkana

Essential Functions
  • Must be able to read and understand drawings, specifications, safety and quality standards and effectively utilize all trade tools and equipment relevant to the work.
  • Reads grades and ensures rebar, block and string line are set and reinforced properly.
  • Ensures the quality of materials is correct for a good pour.
  • Trouble shoot electrical circuits, amplifiers, computer cables, lines, running lights, fuse boxes and emergency stop buttons.
  • Daily maintenance and repairs to 138 and 73.9 kilowatt diesel engines.
  • Ensure slip form pavers run at optimal performance at all times.
  • Ensures proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.
  • Effectively mentors Gomaco paver groundman and new operators.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
 
Required Skills and Experience
  • Must have 3-5 years of experience working with slip form concrete operations.
  • GOMACO equipment training and experience is required.
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of construction labor laws.
  • Must be able to meet all safety requirements and applicable safety policies.
  • Licensed to drive and insurable to drive company vehicles.

Physical requirements
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The position lifts heavy objects 50-75 pounds repeatedly, walks and stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue; and effectively jumps, sprints or throws objects. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. Must have the ability to quickly respond appropriately to unexpected events.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
 
Working conditions
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.  The employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions e.g.,heat, cold, wet or dry. Exposure to dust, sand, gravel, diesel exhaust; moving mechanical parts; uneven, rough and slippery surfaces and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places. The noise level is usually loud.
