Safety Administrator - Longview

Essential Functions

  • Responds to accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
  • Report, document and investigate workplace incidents efficiently while enforcing compliance and company policies at all times.
  • Facilitates post incident drug testing procedures.
  • Performs safety meetings and safety site assessments at regular intervals.
  • Conducts facility and field training for new hires and existing employees.
  • Ensures DOT regulations are enforced.
  • Attendance required according to company attendance policy to ensure crew is able to operate at normal proficiency level.
  • Performs safety meetings and inspections prior to critical lifts and critical operations.
  • Follow all safety policies and PPE use.
  • Conducts orientations and training for new hires.
  • Assist with interviewing qualified candidates and hiring needs.
 
Required Education and Experience
  • 2 years’ experience in a safety role.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be bilingual (English/fluent Spanish).
  • Must pass a background check.
  • Knowledge of Worker’s Compensation preferred.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. 
 
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
 
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
 
Travel
Travel to the jobsites and affiliated companies is expected for this position.
