Concrete Plant Operator - Mt Pleasant

Essential Functions
  • Operate all heavy equipment in a safe and efficient way according to policies and procedures.
  • Perform daily safety and maintenance checks.
  • Clean heavy equipment as scheduled.
  • Ensure heavy equipment is safely and securely stored.
  • Advise the supervisor/shop of any requirements for maintenance or repairs.
  • Participate in routine maintenance.
  • Responsible for the daily upkeep of the property buildings and grounds which includes cleaning and removing of trash.
  • Responsible for the care, maintenance and inventory of all supplies and equipment owned by the property and/or the management company.
  • Responsible for reporting unusual or extraordinary circumstances regarding the property.
  • Be aware of and operate within OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Act) standards and company safety policies at all times.
  • Will be assigned to a road crew if plant is not running.
 
Required Skills and Experience
  • Minimum 1-year of heavy equipment experience, including electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic controls.
  • Prior plumbing maintenance experience is preferred but not required.
  • Minimum 1-year welding experience.
  • Must have strong verbal communication skills and the ability to read and write.
  • Complete and abide by all safety training and other provided training.
  • Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license with a minimum 3 years driving experience and eligible to be added to company’s driving insurance.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days of work are normally Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; however, evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.  Hours of work are determined by the supervisor based on deadlines set by the client.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee up to and over 2/3 of time at work.  The employee is frequently required to sit, climb, stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend and reach with hands and arms above their shoulders.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move anywhere up to 50-75 lbs.  Specific vision abilities are required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.  Must have the ability to quickly respond appropriately to unexpected events.  Wear common protective or safety equipment such as but not all-inclusive safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection and hard hats.
 
Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.  The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions, rough and uneven surfaces, and vibration.  The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and risk of electrical shock.  The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
