Concrete Plant Maintenance Technician - Longview

Essential Functions
  • Conduct routine inspections and daily maintenance checks. 
  • Diagnose malfunctions and repair equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Clean equipment as scheduled and/or required.
  • Ensure equipment is safely and securely stored.
  • Advise the supervisor/shop of any requirements for maintenance or repairs.
  • Participate in routine maintenance.
  • Maintain inventory.
  • Responsible for the daily  upkeep  of  the  property  buildings  and  grounds  which  includes cleaning and removing of trash.
  • Responsible for the care, maintenance and inventory of all supplies and equipment owned by the property and/or the management company.
  • Responsible for reporting unusual or extraordinary circumstances regarding the property.
  • Be aware of and operate within OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Act) standards and company safety policies at all times.
  • Will be assigned other duties as needed.
 
Required Skills and Experience
  • At least one year of industrial maintenance experience.
  • Must have strong verbal communication skills, ability to read and write.
  • Complete and abide by all Safety Training and other provided training.
  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days of work are normally Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; however, evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. 
 
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  The employee is frequently required to sit, climb, stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms above their shoulders.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move anywhere up to 50-75 lbs.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.  Must have the ability to quickly respond appropriately to unexpected events. Wear common protective or safety equipment such as but not all inclusive safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and hard hats.
 
Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.  While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; outside weather conditions, rough, uneven surfaces and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
