Concrete Production Operations Manager - East Texas

Position Summary:
The Concrete Production Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of multiple concrete production facilities. This role ensures optimal plant performance, profitability, safety compliance, and workforce development. The manager will lead operational strategy, maintenance programs, inventory planning, and personnel management to achieve business objectives and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
 
Operations & Efficiency
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of multiple concrete plants to ensure consistent production, quality, and delivery performance
  • Monitor and improve plant efficiency, throughput, and cost control measures
  • Implement best practices and standard operating procedures across all locations
  • Analyze production data and KPIs to identify opportunities for operational improvements
Maintenance Oversight
  • Direct and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance programs for all plant equipment and fleet assets
  • Ensure minimal downtime through proactive planning and rapid response to equipment failures
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to optimize equipment lifecycle and capital expenditures
Profit Maximization
  • Develop and manage regional operating budgets, including cost control and expense reduction strategies
  • Identify opportunities to improve margins through process improvements, pricing alignment, and waste reduction
  • Partner with senior leadership on financial forecasting and performance analysis
Personnel Management
  • Lead, supervise, and support plant managers, supervisors, and operational staff
  • Conduct performance evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary actions as needed
  • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement
Training & Development
  • Develop and implement training programs for plant personnel, including safety, operational procedures, and leadership development
  • Ensure all employees are properly trained and compliant with company and regulatory standards
  • Identify skill gaps and succession planning opportunities
Aggregate Inventory & Forecasting
  • Oversee aggregate inventory levels across all plants to ensure uninterrupted production
  • Develop and maintain accurate forecasting models for raw materials based on demand and seasonal trends
  • Coordinate with suppliers and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery and cost efficiency

Safety & Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal safety and environmental regulations
  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture across all facilities
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits
 Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in concrete, aggregates, or related heavy industrial operations
  • Strong knowledge of concrete plant operations, equipment, and maintenance practices
  • Demonstrated experience in budgeting, cost control, and profit and loss management
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and develop teams

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days of work are normally Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; however, early mornings, evenings and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
