Field Safety Coordinator (Bilingual) - Nacogdoches

Essential Functions
  • Investigates work related incidents efficiently.
  • Facilitates post incident drug testing procedures.
  • Performs safety meetings.
  • Conducts facility and field training.
  • Conducts Safety training for new employees.
  • Responds and documents accidents and injuries.
  • Enforces applicable company policies and procedures.
  • Ensures DOT regulations are enforced.
  • Performs safety site assessments at regular intervals and enforce compliance.
  •   Attendance required according to company attendance policy to ensure crew is able to operate at normal proficiency level.
  • Follow all safety policies and PPE use.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year field safety experience in construction
  • Knowledge with Excel, Word and Power Point
  • Sensitive to confidential information
 Competencies
  • Must maintain good driving record.
  • Must be able to use individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • Must work independently and as a member of team
  • Able to work under stressful conditions at times.
  • Good communication skills.
 
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites such as outside weather conditions and slick and/or rough uneven surfaces.  The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. 
 
Physical Demands
he physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  The employee is frequently required to sit, climb, and use hands to signal and handle equipment. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms above their shoulders.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move anywhere up to 50-75 lbs.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.  Must have the ability to quickly respond appropriately to unexpected events. This position may require long periods of standing, and being subjected to adverse weather conditions. Wear common protective or safety equipment such as but not all inclusive safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and hard hats.
 
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
 
Travel
Travel to the jobsites, company car provided.
